• Early deadline for next week’s Denison Bulletin

  Due to the Labor Day holiday, the deadline for the Tuesday, September 7, edition of the Denison Bulletin will be Friday, September 3, at 10 a.m.

• Assessor examinations scheduled in Des Moines

  Statewide examinations for the positions of deputy assessor and city or county assessor have been scheduled for October, according to Mark Schuling, director of the Iowa Department of Revenue. The examination for deputy assessor will be on October 16, and the examination for city or county assessor will be October 30. Both examinations will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. in the fourth floor conference room of the Hoover State Office Building in Des Moines. Under Iowa law, a person wishing to become eligible for appointment as a city or county assessor or as a deputy assessor must successfully complete an examination and be certified by the Director of the Department of Revenue. Local officials can appoint only those persons certified by the Director of Revenue.
