New officers elected for the CCMH Board of Trustees

• Manilla FD to receive $267,425 vehicle grant

  The Manilla Fire Department will receive $267,425 through the Vehicle Acquisition Program of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The program helps purchase vehicles including, but not limited to, pumpers, aerials, quints, brush trucks, tankers/tenders, rescue vehicles, ambulances, foam units and fireboats.

• It’s official…Denison City Council meetings move to Tuesdays

  The Denison City Council has discussed moving its regular meetings to Tuesdays instead of Mondays, and earlier this week made it official with a vote.

• Police seek motive for fatal shooting at bowling alley

  Police Sunday were investigating the Saturday night slaying of a 19-year-old Omaha man outside a bowling alley at 1313 N. 48th Ave.

• Fliers seek leads on missing family

  Volunteers on Sunday distributed nearly 1,000 informational fliers at churches and stores and to south Omaha residents to try and spark new leads on the missing Szczepanik family.
